Tuolumne Supes Delay Vote On Tower Regulations

Tuolumne County Supervisors have once again put proposed regulations for telecommunications towers on hold.
Officials are considering restricting where those towers can be placed. Many residents have said they don´t want the towers near their homes because they say the structures are “eyesores” and could be health risks. The new rules may also require that the towers blend in with natural surroundings. If enacted, the rules could also require cell phone companies to make a minimum $5,000 security deposit to the county, in case the county ever had to remove or maintain the towers.
The Board of Supervisors will revisit the issue on February 18th.
