Republican Activists Promise 1.6 Million Signatures Monday

Republican activists aiming to recall Governor Davis say they´ll have 1.6 million signatures inside county elections offices Monday. Meanwhile, a state appeals court in Sacramento took no action today on a lawsuit to make county officials count those signatures faster. Some recall backers say the Secretary of State´s office is letting counties move slowly to stall a recall election until March. Analysts say that would help the governor.
