Man Arrested in Connection with Homicide

Tuolumne County investigators are flying to Illinois today to question a man about a homicide at a home here last month. 46-year-old Michael Cook was arrested Wednesday in Metropolis, Illinois, which is on the Illinois-Kentucky border.
Cook lived with 54-year-old Mary Bisbing, who was found dead in her La Grange home August 25.
Cook was arrested for a probation violation. Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Lt. John Steely said Cook was on probation for spousal abuse.
Cook is not being called a suspect in the homicide at this time, Steely said.
