Fire Burns In Shasta Area

A fire in eastern Shasta County has burned at least 1,500 acres since last night. Firefighters say about 50 structures are threatened by the flames – but so far none has been damaged. Five air tankers are dropping retardant over the area and 170 firefighters are on the ground trying to halt the flames.
