Gun Makers Could Lose Shield

A bill making gun manufacturers liable for negligence is on its way to Governor Davis, following Assembly approval late yesterday. By a bare 41-to-32 majority, the Assembly voted to strip gun makers of a shield enacted in 1983 to protect them against lawsuits aimed at cheaply made handguns.
