Fog Alert System Planned

The state transportation department says it will place a fog detection system on Highway 99 in parts of the San Joaquin Valley. The system will send an alert to the Caltrans traffic management center, which will then issue alerts over radio, on freeway signs and to the California Highway Patrol.
