Investigation Continues into Death

Tuolumne County deputies are continuing their investigation into the death of a Sonora Social Service provider. 49-year-old Cynthia Lou Stephens´ body was recovered from a cave near the Parrotts Ferry Bridge yesterday.
Her car was found the night before with its lights on and a door open, pulled over near the bridge. Deputies took until mid-morning to find the body. The car has been impounded and an autopsy scheduled to determine the cause of death.
Stephens was director of the Mountain Women´s Resource Center in Sonora.
