A Southern California firefighter on his way to provide reinforcements at a fire in Northern California was
seriously burned Saturday when he stopped along the way to help combat a small five-acre wild fire on the outskirts of Reno, Nevada.
The fire
destroyed two out buildings along U-S Highway 395 about five miles north of Reno.
The injured firefighter fell and suffered what appear to be
second-degree burns to the face, hands and back of the head.
