Officials for the Safeway and Albertson´s supermarket chains say they are ready for a strike by workers in
Northern California starting Sunday.
The current labor agreement expires at midnight Saturday. Ron Lind of United Food and Commercial Workers
says there won´t be a strike Sunday because workers haven´t authorized one, but talks are not going well and preparations for a strike are being made.
