A California gun group is launching a billboard campaign touting firearm ownership as a response to last
month´s terrorist attacks. The California Rifle and Pistol Association says the campaign is particularly timely in light of the terror attacks and the current debate
over arming flight crews to thwart hijackers. Gun-control advocates are criticizing the timing as well as the message. They accuse the rifle association of
capitalizing on people´s new fears. A rifle association spokesman says the campaign was designed before last month´s attacks, but says the attacks should
make people think about their safety.
