The storm system that brought snow to the mountains and some heavy rain to the lower elevations is moving on. A winter storm warning for the southern Sierra Nevada was allowed to expire at 4 this morning.
Cal Trans is requiring chains or snow tires between Strawberry and the closure at Kennedy Meadows on Highway 108. On Highway 4 Ebbetts pass is closed at the Mt.Reba Turnoff, and chains or snow tires are required between there and Big Meadows. On Highway 88, Chains or 4 wheel drive required at Peddler Vista.
