Calaveras Visitor’s Bureau Before Supervisors
San Andreas, CA — The Calaveras County Supervisors held a special meeting last night and the Board did hear a presentation from the Calaveras Visitor’s Bureau.
Calaveras Visitors Bureau Executive Director Lisa Boulton, was Wednesday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.
Boulton spent time updating the Board of Supervisors on various events, promotions and marketing that the Bureau has been engaged in.
The Bureau most recently brought home a gold ribbon for its exhibit at the California State Fair, which ended on Sunday. This was the fifth consecutive year for a Gold Ribbon and the display was picked as “Best Visitor Experience” for its interactive displays.
The exhibit’s theme was “Calaveras: Your Family Adventure Land” and featured destinations, hands-on games, and promoted activities like kayaking, gold panning, zip lining and hiking at Big Trees State Park.
Boulton also discussed innovative and interactive technology designed to assist visitors on the website http://gocalaveras.com
As acting Calaveras Film Commisioner, Boulton had worked for the past year to bring tv chef Gordon Ramsey to Murphys. Ramsey visited and was filmed a couple of months ago at the Murphys Hotel. Boulton noted that there has already been a positive economic impact in the immediate area. The show will be on the FOX Network sometime during the 2013-2014 season.
The “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard every weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:45, 7:45 and 8:45am.
