Possible New Neighbors

Sponsored by:

Soulsbyville, CA — Soulsbyville residents could soon welcome new neighbors to the area. Kenning Properties, Inc. has submitted an application to develop the Oak View Estates. It is a 120 lot subdivision that would be built just south of the Willow Springs neighborhood. The developer is asking for a General Plan Amendment, zoning change and has filed a tentative subdivision map. The area is already zoned for single family homes with a two acre minimum and agricultural open space. The area would have to be rezoned for single family residences with lot sizes from a quarter acre to an acre and a half.

Tuolumne County Community Resources Agency Director Bev Shane says it could be an economic boost to the area.
“It would certainly provide for jobs in the construction industry to construct the subdivision itself and then to provide building of the individual homes.”

Shane says the project is in the early stages. Right now, the agency is getting feedback from neighbors. She says after that they will work with the developer on any changes or environmental studies that may be needed. Then the project will head to the Tuolumne County Planning Commission and ultimately the Board of Supervisors.
