Calaveras Supervisors Will Select Chairperson

San Andreas, CA — The Calaveras County Supervisors will select a new Chair and Vice Chair for 2014.

Typically, the Supervisors use a rotating system to select the chairperson. Merita Callaway is the current chair and Darren Spellman is the Vice Chair.

At Tuesday’s meeting, the Board members will also receive their committee and commission assignments for 2014. Other notable items include placing land use restrictions on 3.75 acres of Calaveras County owned land for oak tree conservation purposes. It is considered partial mitigation for impacts caused by the Jail project. The Board will discuss additional potential revenues for the Public Works Transit budget.

Tuesday’s regular session meeting begins at 9am at the Government Center in San Andreas.
