Future Scientists Wanted
Yosemite, CA – Yosemite National Park is calling on future scientists and leaders to take an adventure of a lifetime.
A teen program at the Park uses hands on classes to teach students. NatureBridge, a nonprofit environmental education school, offers the Summer Field Research Course. Registration is now open for the two-week field research course at the Park. Park Officials say students work with NatureBridge educators and produce their own field-based research project.
“Teenagers emerge from the Summer Field Research Course knowing how to think like scientists,” said Becky Zentmyer, course director. “The course is student-centered, inquiry-based learning at its most adventurous. Students learn field research skills that can transfer to high school, college and beyond.”
Students can choose from three course dates for the summer of 2014: June 29 through July 12, July 13 through July 26, or July 27 through August 9. Click here apply and get more information or call NatureBridge at 209-379-9511 extension 19.
