Tuolumne River Trust New Executive Director

Sonora, CA — The Acting Executive Director of the Tuolumne River Trust is stepping into the permanent role.

Patrick Koepele has been with the organization for over a decade, and had been serving as Acting Executive Director since last year’s resignation of Director Eric Wesselman.

“I am very thrilled to be put in this position, and I am excited about taking on some of the challenges we face in bringing health to the river,” says Koepele. “In the Tuolumne County portion of the River, the Rim Fire certainly had a huge impact, and we want to help as much as we can with the recovery up there, and bring back the watershed.”

The Trust’s Board Chairman, John Nimmons says, “The Board is delighted that Patrick will lead us through this important time. He’s done an outstanding job in his years with the Trust, and has earned the admiration, respect and affection of its many constituents.”

Koepele was the Tuolumne River Trust’s Central Valley Program Director from 2000 to 2008, and he later moved into the Deputy Executive Director position. He holds a Masters of Science in Geology degree from the University of California at Davis, and a Bachelor’s degree in Geology from Colgate University.
