Calaveras Chamber Assists In Business Recovery
Business is slowly recovering in Calaveras County and the Calaveras Chamber of Commerce has been helping their business members along the way.
Mindy Miller Boyette, Chamber Interim Executive Director, was Friday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.
“Businesses throughout the county are coming back slowly and strengthening” said Boyette.
In addition to helping their own members recover and grow, the Chamber took over the operations of the county’s Economic Development Company last year.
The Economic Development Corporation operates out of the Chamber’s office in San Andreas.
There are numerous challenges and factors for operating business in Calaveras and several issues have been discussed during recent summits and forums with local government officials (such as Supervisors). The Chamber is and will continue to be actively involved with that process.
Meanwhile, Boyette anticipates being quite busy herself in the months ahead.
Part of her busy schedule includes this weekend’s Calaveras Home & Garden Show on March 29 & 30 at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds (Frogtown), which is presented by the Calaveras County Chamber.
“We’ll have something for everybody”, said Boyette. “This is both a completely free and family friendly event, so bring the kids.”
The hours run from 10am – 6pm on Saturday and 11am – 4pm on Sunday.
Also the annual Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament, which raises money for Scholarships, is now set for Friday, June 27th at Greenhorn Creek Golf Course.
Additionally, the Chamber continues to raise money for charities, hold luncheons, mixers and this year will likely hold political forums.
