Yosemite Hits Milestone
Yosemite, CA — Yosemite National Park will commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the Yosemite Grant on Monday, June 30. To celebrate the historical event, there will be a ceremony in the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias at 10 a.m. Plenty of dignitaries will be on hand for the event.
Here is the Park’s list of speakers:
- Gavin Newsom, Lieutenant Governor of the State of California
- U.S. Congressmen Tom McClintock and Jim Costa
- Jon Jarvis, National Park Service Director
The Yosemite and California State Parks Mounted Patrol will assist in the ceremony. There will also be a groundbreaking for the Mariposa Grove Restoration Project. In addition, the park has several other events planned throughout the day, including a Park’s Heritage Fair in Yosemite Valley, and a Park’s Heritage Ceremony with California States Parks at 3:00 p.m.
