Sonora Regional Medical Center Hosts Diabetes Day
Sonora Regional Medical Center is hosting Diabetes Day, an educational event for patients, family members and friends in the community who are affected by diabetes.
Gail Witzlesteiner, SRMC’s Director of Develpment and Public Relations and Executive Director of the Hospital Foundation, was Thursday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.
Diabetes Day is scheduled for Friday, November 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Live Well Be Well Center, located on 19747 Greenley Road in Sonora.
There will be a variety of free offerings including a healthy soup lunch, nutrition classes and demonstrations, local resources, diabetes-related vendors, literature, exercise classes, giveaways and more.
There will also be a Diabetes Walk departing from the Heaven for Kids playground at 9:30 a.m.
The goal is for the public to learn new ways to prevent or control diabetes at this community event.
