Governor To Release Budget
Sacramento, CA — Details are leaking out regarding what will be included in Governor Jerry Brown’s proposed budget.
The Governor will formally release his spending plan for the 2015-16 fiscal year later this morning. The Associated Press reports the $113 billion state spending plan will boost schools and help pay down debt, but will reject additional funding for the University of California. The Governor has been at odds with UC Regents over their recent decision to increase tuition rates.
The AP reports that the Governor will also propose to put $1.2 billion each towards paying down debt, and the rainy day fund. Click here to read an earlier story detailing the Governor’s earlier State of the State address.
