Original post at 7:07 a.m.: Tuolumne County, CA — Caltrans reports there will be a delayed opening this morning of the James E. Roberts Bridge.
We’ve reported previously, due to construction, there is a complete closure of the bridge every Sunday through Thursday, from 5pm until 7am. For unknown reasons, spokesperson Skip Allum reports the bridge will remain closed until 10am today. A detour is in place via Jacksonville Road and Bonds Flat Road, so allow yourself extra time when traveling to your destination. The extensive bridge project is expected to continue through February of 2017. It includes replacing the bridge deck and retrofitting the structure to provide an additional 40 years of service.
