Sonora, CA – This Halloween, make sure safety comes first in decorating and costumes. According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), from 2018 to 2022, the latest statistics, decorations caused an average of 835 home fires each year, costing $14 million in property damage. NFPA reported that nearly half of these fires started because decorations were placed too close to heat sources.
