Resiliency Village Prepares To Break Ground On New Octopod

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — Noting that it marks a significant step in the organization’s mission to combat homelessness in the region, the non-profit Resiliency Village will break ground on a new innovative housing facility early next month.

What is being deemed as “The Octopod,” the facility will have eight tiny apartments under one roof, providing private living spaces, while also encouraging social interaction through a spacious common area. The layout is set up to provide both independence and support.

“We are excited to take this important step in providing our unhoused neighbors with safe, dignified housing, says Mark Dyken, Executive Director of Resiliency Village. “The Octopod is more than just a roof over their heads-it’s a place where people can rebuild their lives with the support and resources they need.”

It will be located on the Resiliency Village property in Sonora.

A special groundbreaking celebration is being planned for early November.
