Additional Mountain Snow Through Friday
The Winter Weather Advisory issued for the western slope of the northern Sierra Nevada, will remain in effect until 10 PM Friday. Additionally, the National Weather Service has also issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Yosemite National Park from 4 PM this afternoon until 10 PM Friday.
Four to fifteen inches of additional snow accumulation is forecast above the 5,500 foot elevation.
The snow levels this morning range from 5,000 to 6,000 feet. That will lower to 4,500 to 5,500 feet by tonight.
The heaviest period of snowfall is expected tonight into Friday morning.
Winds will continue to gust as high as thirty-five mph. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.
Plan on slick, slippery, difficult and hazardous travel conditions, snow covered roads, chain controls, and travel delays. Slow down and use caution while driving.
If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury.
