Delays For Travelers On Major Highway In Mother Lode

Tuolumne County, CA — Motorists may want to give themselves extra time to get to work next week as Caltrans road repairs on several stretches of Highway 49 in the Mother Lode will cause delays for drivers during commute times.
Crews will be surveying, striping and repairing the shoulders in several areas from the Mariposa/Tuolumne county line to the Tuolumne/Calaveras county line. Caltrans signals that travelers could face up to 15 minute delays in those cone zones.
Caltrans has provided this work schedule for next week:
- One-way traffic control on northbound and southbound SR-49 from the Mariposa/Tuolumne county line to Montezuma Road beginning Monday, December 10, 2018, through Friday, December 14, 2018, from 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. for striping.
- Intermittent one-way traffic control on northbound and southbound SR-49 from SR-120 to the Tuolumne/Calaveras county line beginning Monday, December 10, 2018, through Friday, December 14, 2018, from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. for shoulder work.
- One-way traffic control on northbound and southbound SR-49 from Jack Page Road to the Tuolumne/Calaveras county line beginning Monday, December 10, 2018, through Friday, December 14, 2018, from 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. for striping.
- #1 (right) of 2 lanes and shoulder on northbound and southbound SR-49 from the Sonora Creek Bridge to Washington Street beginning Wednesday, December 12, 2018, through Friday, December 14, 2018, from 8:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. for survey work.
- #1 (right) of 2 lanes and shoulder on northbound and southbound SR-49 from the Sonora Creek Bridge to Washington Street beginning Thursday, December 13, 2018, through Friday, December 14, 2018, from 9:30 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. for survey work.
