Update: Power Outages And School Delays For Thursday
Update at 6:30 p.m.: PG&E crews are making progress on widespread power outages in the Mother Lode due to the stormy weather. This morning and afternoon there were over 2,500 PG&E customers impacted. There remain over 1,500 without out lights this evening.
Tuolumne County saw the most outages with over 1,600 customers without electricity throughout the day. By night fall, the number dropped to about half and sits at 891, with 345 of those customers are in the Groveland and Buck Meadows areas. The other outages span from Chinese Camp (101) to Phoenix lake (28) and small scattered outages across Jamestown, Sonora and Twain Harte.
In Clavaveras County, 673 customers remain without power stretching from San Andreas to West Point.
The utility has not posted any estimated repair times for these outages, but has assigned crews to assess them and work overnight to restore power.
Update at 2:30 p.m.: The heavy rain fall continues to impact the Mother Lode this afternoon with widespread power outages affecting over 2,500 PG&E customers.
Most are in Tuolumne County, where over 1,600 customers are affected with the highest number, 1,354, in the Groveland and Buck Meadows areas. In the Chinese Camp area, 101 have been without power since 6:40 this morning. In Phoenix lake, there are 44 with out power and in Sonora, north of the Highway 108 and Standard Road intersection another 22 are with out power. The rest are smaller outage spanning from Sonora to Jamestown and Twain Harte.
In Clavaveras County, most of the outages are east of Mokelumne Hill, in the communities of Mountain Ranch, Jesus Maria, Rail Roat Flat and Glencoe areas, where 963 outages with the largest one around the Glencoe area that began around 9 a.m. In the San Andreas area, a total of 143 are without power. There are also scattered outages from Avery to Big Trees, steming from late last night.

Original post at 7 a.m.: Sonora, CA — There are some widespread power outages this morning as a storm system continues to pass through the Mother Lode.
PG&E reports there are 2,474 customers without electricity in the Groveland area, nearly 600 near Mountain Ranch, 157 in Jenny Lind and 131 near Tuttletown. There are also small outages, impacting just a handful of customers, in Angels Camp, Copperopolis, Twain Harte and Mi Wuk Village. PG&E crews are assessing the outages and it remains unclear when there will be full restoration.

There is also some traffic hazards related to the weather. The CHP reports that Bell Mooney Road is closed near Highway 108 due to flooding, and there is a tree down across Sunnyside Way near Mills Street.
