Yosemite, CA — There were big flooding concerns near Yosemite National Park yesterday along Highway 140, but after removing 150 cubic yards of debris, in addition to a downed oak tree, the highway is back open.
Caltrans reports that thankfully there were no significant rockslides. Highway 140 was pre-emptively closed ahead of the storm for 17 miles between Midpines and El Portal. It was in the Ferguson Fire Burn Scar and done due to public safety concerns. Caltrans will continue to monitor the weather over the coming days.
