Westside Trail Re-Route Proposed

Tuolumne, CA — The Forest Service is looking to make some changes to a portion of the Westside Trail in the Mi Wok Ranger District of the Stanislaus National Forest.
The trail is still closed 2.3 miles from the Tuolumne Trailhead because of a landslide last year in the Neil’s Gulch area. It is impacting a 250 ft. stretch of the trail. It is open from both ends, but no longer connects. Because the landslide was so significant, the Forest Service is now planning to re-route the trail so it will be continuous.
In the meantime, the forest service continues to ask people to be cautious in that area.
