Mother Lode Fire Chiefs Invite Public To ‘Wildfire Preparedness Week’ Events
Sonora, CA – Area firefighting agencies are cooperatively sounding the call for Wildfire Preparedness Week with an invite to open houses at three Mother Lode fire stations.
In the wake of drying vegetation and burn permits in effect as of May 1, Wildfire Preparedness runs May 5-11. Residents are encouraged to attend these events, get to know their local firefighting staff, and learn about their role in wildfire prevention and preparedness.
The week kicks off this Sunday with open house events at the Jamestown Fire Station 76 (18249 4th Ave.) and at Groveland Fire Station 78 (18930 Main St.) with the latter co-hosted by Groveland Community Services District (GCSD). It winds up with the third open house at the Mono Village Fire Station 51 (19500 Hillsdale Dr.) in Sonora on Saturday, May 11. All three open houses will run from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
