Inside Tuolumne County Government Series: Balancing The Budget

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — Tuolumne County’s revenues fluctuate from year to year, which makes it a challenge to balance the budget.

In his second myMotherLode.com blog focused on the inside workings of county government, board chair Karl Rodefer detailed the county budget process, historical revenue figures, and how the money is spent. For example, the 2009-10 budget was $155-million, it dropped to $132-million in 2011-12, and this year it is up to $218-million. He also writes about which areas of spending the county can control, and how the state controls other areas.
