Hospital Celebrates “Values In Action”
San Andreas, CA– Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital recently announced the winners of its annual Values in Action Awards.
“Each person associated with the hospital works toward fulfilling our five values-Dignity, Collaboration, Justice, Excellence, and Stewardship,” said Interim Hospital President Patti Monczewski. “The Values in Action Awards pay tribute to Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital team members who are truly models of excellence.”
The 2011 award recipients include:
Chaplain Michael Jordan for Dignity – respecting the inherent value and worth of each person.
CT Technologist Isaac Watson for Collaboration – working together with people who support common values and vision to achieve shared goals.
The Green Team (employee recycling program); Tom Bruntz, Sue, Sarah Haseleu, Ruth Huffman, Marta Johnson, J.R. Krieg, Jessica Oliveira, Karen Peterson, Robyn, Nicki Stevens, Bill Wennhold, and Dean White for Stewardship – cultivating the resources entrusted to us to promote healing and wholeness.
Dr. Dean Kelaita, Infection Prevention Medical Director, for Justice – advocating for social change and acting in ways that promote respect for all persons and demonstrate compassion for our sisters and brothers who are powerless.
The Mammography Technology Team of Wanda Martin, Lisa Garcia,Tracey Logette, and Mindy Nash for Excellence – exceeding expectations through teamwork and innovation.
In addition to the five value awards, an overall award acknowledges a person who embodies all five values. This year’s Values in Action honoree is registered nurse Maci Parmely.
“These employees reflect not only Mark Twain St. Joseph’s core values, but further demonstrate the importance of supporting one another as part of a vibrant healthcare team,” said Monczewski. “On behalf of the 300 employees of Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital, we offer our sincere appreciation to the honorees who make serving our healthcare mission together more joyous.”
