Heavy rain in the foothills and plentiful snow in the high country has made for excellent skiing conditions at Dodge Ridge and Bear Valley In Tuolumne County and at Kirkwood off of Highway 88.
A Dodge Ridge spokesman says the ski area received several inches of fresh powder overnight on top of a base of between 75 and 135 inches. Kirkwood has received up to 18 inches of fresh snow this week on top of a base depth of 16 to 18 and-a-half feet.
More snow is forecast for higher elevations into the weekend.
