Brown Slightly Leads Whitman

Sacramento, CA — The race for California Governor is a dead heat.
A new Field Poll shows that Democrat Jerry Brown has a 44-to-43 percent lead over Republican challenger Meg Whitman. 13 percent are still undecided.
The poll shows that 42 percent of California voters have a favorable view of Brown and 40 percent view him negatively. 40 percent have a favorable view of Whitman and 42 percent view her negatively.
Both candidates are strongly the top choice among registered voters in their party. Whitman holds a lead among non-partisan/independent voters, 42-to-39 percent.
