Senator Dave Cox Dies
Sacramento, CA – Senator Dave Cox has passed away at the age of 72.
Cox’s family has released a statement reading, “Our beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday. A devoted family man, he always found time to serve his community and constituents. Dave took great pride in public service and making government work for the people it serves.”
Cox had been battling prostate cancer for the past 13 years. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Maggie. He also has three daughters and six grandchildren. The Cox family requests that all cards and messages be sent to Senator Cox’s Capitol office, and staff will deliver them to his family.
Cox, a Republican, represented Senate District One which included Calaveras County. Memorial services for Cox are pending.
