Columbia College’s New Interim President

Columbia, CA — Columbia College will have a new Interim President.

The Yosemite Community College District Board of Trustees has selected Dr. Richard A. Jones to fill the role. He replaces Dr. Joan Smith, who was recently selected to head the district as the YCCD interim Chancellor. Dr. Jones is a past chancellor of the San Bernardino Community College District and former President of Clarke College in Vancouver, Washington. Most recently, he served as Interim President of Barstow CCD.

YCCD Board Chair Pat Dean states, “We’re very pleased that Dr. Jones agreed to be Interim President. He has a long history in community college leadership roles throughout the state and should be a good addition to our wonderful college.”

Dr. Jones will step into the interim role, effective August 23rd.
