Lodging Facility Proposed Near Groveland
Groveland, CA – A project designed to create more lodging and entertainment near Groveland will go before the Southern Tuolumne County Planning Commission this week.
Charles P. Holcomb is hoping to build a 37,000 sq. ft. lodge with 40 studio units. It would also include a conference hall, indoor and outdoor dining, a dance hall, parking lot, pool, gift shop, seven guest cottages and a three bedroom detached guest house.
The project would be built at 24025 Highway 120, a half mile east of Smith Station Road. The land is currently zoned for agriculture, and Holcomb is requesting a conditional use permit for the project. The South County Planning Commission will meet at 7pm Wednesday at the Groveland Community Hall on Main Street.
