Sierra Winter Storm Watch Issued For Sunday
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the Sierra Nevada from early Sunday morning through late Sunday night.
Snow may fall as low as 5000 to 6000 feet. Six to ten inches of snow is expected above 7000 feet. Twelve to eighteen inches of snow is possible above 8000 feet.
Fifteen to thirty mph winds should also be expected with some gusts reaching up to fifty mph.
As of Friday afternoon Highway 120 Tioga Pass, Highway 108 Sonora Pass and Highway 4 Ebbetts Pass were all open with no restrictions. The Sunday storm may initiate seasonal closures of all three mountain passes.

It will also be wet and windy in the Motherlode on Sunday, with a possible one to three inches of rain. Winds may gust from thirty to forty mph.
