Man Allegedly Causes Serious Bodily Injury At Barbecue
Sonora, CA – A local man is facing assault charges following a family incident that sent another to the hospital.
According to Tuolumne County Sheriff’s spokesperson Sgt. Andrea Benson, earlier last evening, 34-year-old Christopher Hyde of Sonora reportedly assaulted the victim at a home in Tuolumne during a family barbecue. She adds the victim, who subsequently went to Adventist Health Sonora, sustained visible facial and head injuries, and hospital staff evaluated him for a possible traumatic brain injury.
Hyde, who was arrested and booked into the Tuolumne County Jail, was charged with battery with serious bodily injury. He received a $50,000 bail.
