Sonora, CA — Sonora High School was briefly put on “lockdown status” this morning because a motorist reported seeing a man with a firearm on the balcony of an apartment complex near the intersection on Snell and Green St.
The Sonora PD contacted nearby Sonora High School immediately, and Superintendent Mike McCoy says the doors were locked within minutes.
“Officers responded to the area and determined the firearm to actually be a B.B. gun,” says Police Chief Mark Stinson. “At that time the lockdown was lifted.”
The lockdown period was from 11:20-11:40am.
