Statewide Water Conservation Program Launched
Sacramento, CA — State officials announced today a statewide water conservation outreach program called “Save our Water.”
It is a partnership between the Department of Water Resources and the Association of California Water Agencies.
“If we make a concerted effort to do the simple things, we can accomplish a lot,” says Wendy Martin, DWR Drought Coordinator. “The reality is that we don’t know if we are in the third year of a three year drought, or the third year of a ten year drought.”
Californians are being asked to take basic steps to conserve water. Martin says these include taking shorter showers, checking for faucet leaks, washing only full loads of laundry, and cutting back when watering landscapes and yards.
