Schools Briefly Put On Lockdown As Officers Arrest Armed Suspect
Angels Camp, CA — Two Angels Camp schools were put on lockdown status as a precaution this afternoon, as a man was arrested in a nearby neighborhood with a firearm.
Police Chief Dale Mendenhall says his department was called to the 1000 block of Hillcrest at 12:05pm for a reported family disturbance. When officers arrived, they noticed 22-year-old Patrick Rowe fleeing the home with a .45 caliber pistol.
Nearby Bret Harte High School and Mark Twain Elementary were immediately put on “lockdown status” as a precautionary move, meaning no one was allowed to go in or out. At 12:50pm Rowe was tracked down by officers and taken into custody.
Rowe is charged with possession of a loaded firearm in public, public intoxication and resisting arrest.
