Search Continues For Missing Honduran Hiker
Yosemite National Park, CA — The search continues for the missing 24 year old Honduran hiker Esmin Garmendia-Barrios.
Garmendia failed to return to a meeting Sunday afternoon with several hikers. They were hiking in the areas of Sentinel Dome, Washburn Point and Glacier Point. Trail areas that are being searched include Illilouette, Panorama and Pohono.
Ranger Adrienne Freeman says over 100 volunteers along with search dogs have come from as far as Santa Clara and Marin counties to join in the search. In addition a helicopter is being utilized due to the extremely steep terrain in the immediate area.
Garmendia is described as five feet eight inches tall and weighing 165 pounds with black hair. He speaks fluent Spanish and broken English.
