Clarke Broadcasting Awards Student Scholarships

Sonora, Ca — Clarke Broadcasting is pleased to announce that three local high school seniors will be awarded $2,000 scholarships to help continue their academic studies.

Ted Bird High School Senior Alaina Young plans on pursuing a career in medicine. She will begin her studies at Columbia College this fall, with plans to eventually transfer to Westmont College in Santa Barbara.

Stephanie Jensen of Sonora High School will leave for the University of Pacific this fall and focus on communication studies. She is a member of the California Scholarship Federation and has been active in sports throughout her four years in high school.

Summerville High School´s Scott Birkestrand is planning to attend UC Davis and focus on either broadcasting or psychology.

Birkestrand is an Eagle Scout, and has been active in soccer, student government and other school organizations.
