Caps And Gowns Descend Upon The Mother Lode
Tuolumne & Calaveras Counties, CA — Graduation time has arrived in the Mother Lode.
Bret Harte and Summerville High Schools celebrated their respective graduations Friday, May 30.
This evening Cassina, Ted Bird and Sonora Adult School will graduate 125 students. No valedictorians are named for the three alternative schools.
Thursday evening Sonora High will graduate 270 seniors. Maija Swanson is serving as valedictorian with her 4.23 grade point average. She is headed for Santa Clara University in the fall.
Calaveras High School will hold graduation ceremonies June 11 at 7:30. The field of valedictorians includes Amanda Craig, Taylor Martin, Sarah Pesout, Kayla Reeder, Tessa Riggio, Ashley Skrbec, Jennelle Taylor and Kristine Williams. A total of 255 will graduate.
Also on June 11 Don Pedro will graduate 22 students. With a 4.0 g.p.a. Robert Hazler will serve as valedictorian. Hazler is planning on attending U.C. Merced.
June 12 Steven Rogers will be the designated valedictorian with his 3.979 g.p.a. as Tioga High School graduates 19 students. Rogers is headed for St. John´s College in Minnesota.
