Disabled Bus Causes Minor Delay In School Outing

Jamestown, CA — An electrical fire in the engine compartment of a Columbia Elementary School bus moments before seven o´clock this morning caused only a slight delay for a day long field trip.
The fire was quickly extinguished and according to CHP Officer Steve Lampl on scene there were no injuries and no spread of the fire to the adjacent wildland.
The incident took place in the westbound late of Hwy 108 east of O´Byrnes Ferry Rd. The students were headed for Great America Theme Park in Santa Clara. They quickly boarded another bus and departed without further incident.
