New Equipment Will Aid In Search For Knight

Sponsored by:

Sonora, Ca — The Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Office is getting some extra help in its effort to find the body of Carl Stephen Knight in Lake Don Pedro.

Thanks to the State Office of Emergency Services, San Mateo County will be supplying Side Scanning Sonar equipment that has the capability of observing deeper waters than the current devices of the Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Office.

According to Lt. Dan Bressler, a team of three or four deputies from San Mateo will be arriving within the next five days to help run the equipment.

This will notably help them scan a portion of the lake that is 140 ft. deep, where the Sheriff´s Office believes may be the location of the body.

Knight has been missing since April 6th following an alleged altercation with Paul and Curtis Slawinsky of Jamestown. The two suspects remain in Tuolumne County Jail.

Today, detectives are continuing to monitor the shoreline for any possible evidence related to the incident.
