Sonora PD Looking For Volunteers

Sonora, Ca — The Sonora Police Department is looking for new members to join its Police Associate Citizens Team.

“This volunteer group assists the Police Department and its activities by assisting the officers in the field,” says Sgt. Glenn Roberts.

Assignments are based on the volunteer´s abilities and interests. Team members may be asked to take part in house checks, assist officers at vehicle accidents, and help with traffic control during major events.

Roberts says volunteers are asked to commit four hours each week. Completion of a 40 hour Sonora Police Department training academy is required of each volunteer. Training is conducted by Sonora PD personnel in a classroom setting.
