Operation MOM To Honor Fallen Sonora Soldier

Sonora, CA — Operation MOM will be honoring fallen Sonora Army Sgt. Bobby Rapp tomorrow at the Veterans Memorial Hall across the street from Courthouse Park.

Operation MOM will be collecting and packing items for U.S. military personnel in the Middle East. Valued items include CD´s, DVD´s, toiletry items, pens, pencils, stationery and hard candy.

Monetary donations are always welcome for postage. The postage for each box is $8.95. Donations can be dropped off between 9am and 1pm.

Rapp is the son of Sonora residents Ted and Jennifer Rapp. He was killed by a suicide bomber Monday while guarding a government building in the Sabari District of Afghanistan.

Once home Rapp was planning to attend Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo studying to become a physical therapist.
