Dome Rock Fire Grows In Stanislaus National Forest

Strawberry, Ca — A vegetation fire continues to burn in an isolated area of the Stanislaus National Forest, approximately 10 miles north of Strawberry.
?The Dome Rock Fire is moving in a northeast direction, like we hoped it would,? says Jerry Snyder with the Forest Service. ?It is burning a little hotter than we had hoped, and has spread to around 50-70 acres.?
Snyder says that firefighters are slightly worried about increased winds that are headed to the area, but are encouraged by the fact that precipitation is expected to follow. No structures are considered at risk.
