Fall Storm Headed Toward Mother Lode
Sonora, Ca — The first fall storm of the season is expected to arrive late tonight in the Mother Lode and linger through Saturday.
The National Weather Services says that light rainfall is expected this evening and tomorrow across the Sierra foothills, with snow levels expected to dip down to around 7,000 ft.
?Normally during the first rain of the season, we tend to see a lot more crashes,? says CHP Officer Jaime Castillo in San Andreas. ?It is important that people slow down and allow more time to reach their destination.?
Castillo adds that during the first good rain, oils on the roadway tend to rise up and create extra slick conditions.
The precipitation is expected to move out of the region late Saturday.
